Reason for applying:
I’m honestly looking for more involvement and additional ways that I can contribute in some way to the folks that call NAK home. I want to take a more active role in making NAK the community that players come back to time and again. People can play Arma3 on any server, but things like patience of staff, peer support in TS, player camaraderie, and server performance are the things that really make a player pin a server to his/her favorites. Some of our admins contribute a lot of time supporting game play, scripting customizations, testing game-play/mods, and maintaining website. I want to keep the NAK community interesting to old players and make sure that i do what I can to make it a favorite for new players too.
List any real-world experience or skills that you feel would contribute to the NAK community:
a.) 20 Years in infrastructure technology and information security.
b.) I started a career in TECH, because I enjoyed helping others with technology.
c.) I manage essential operational services of multiple server data centers.
d.) I am responsible for an environment consisting of hundreds of Linux / Windows servers.
e.) I maintain a working level of scripting skills in Python, Bash, and Powershell.
f.) I enjoy troubleshooting issues, especially when logs, grep, or regex is involved.
g.) I am continuously training on new technology and its uses to meet CPE requirements.
h.) I’ve coordinated and directed design efforts on CMS platforms like Drupal, Joomla, Wordpress.
i.) I’ve worked extensively with many relational database platforms such as MySQL, MS SQL.
j.) I have numerous accreditations and certifications in information tech and security.
Estimated Activity (How active will you be as an Admin.):
I would estimate approx 15-20 hours per week for activities that specifically require me to be logged into TS/Arma3.
If there are other activities that can be worked on outside of Arma3- then I hope possibly more.
Briefly list what you believe is involved in being an Admin on NAK servers:
a.) Game play support for NAK community players
b.) TeamSpeak support for NAK community players
c.) Moderation of the NAK website forums / mods list
d.) Scripting and development of features for NAK servers
e.) Testing, Bug Hunting, and QA for NAK servers
f.) Maintaining an acceptable and amicable social order on TS and NAK servers
Provide any other information that might help us decide why you should be an Admin:
Some of my best relationships with NAK are with current/former admins. I hope to work in coordination with them to fix everything that Crater breaks.
