Hours played on NAK servers: estimated at 67.6 hours, give or take
Total Arma 3 hours: 597 hrs on record
Recommendation from existing Admin(if given): I have not received a direct recommendation, but I have had good relations and interactions with several members of the NAK Team. I would guess to say that vgerdj and WarHawk would be my references
Reason for applying: Supplement additional support to the current Admin team. Please read further with question #9 since I believe both questions/answers go hand in hand - if you are requesting a more detailed response, please let me know
List any real world experience or skills that you feel would contribute to the NAK community: I have recently retired from the USAF after 20 years in the Security Forces career field (Military Police). On top of the numerous Law Enforcement duties I conducted, I served in capacities as a Non-Commissioned Officer in charge (NCOIC) of various sections, supervised anywhere between 7 and 65 people, and conducted training and field ops, etc. These positions required me to enforce standards, up hold laws and regulations and use quite a bit of common sense and objectivity when handling day to day interactions with people. I took both sides of a story or event, put it together and made a decision. While I am very realistic that not all of my military thinking and methods will translate well to a civilian world, it gave me a foundation to work from, with all the problem solving and interactions I had daily with all facets of people. I prided myself on being fair, but firm in my actions. How would I use this as being an Admin? Basically put, I would observe/listen/ask - find out the facts, ask the right questions, and make a firm and fair decision, or at the very least, if the decision would create more harm than good, ask my fellow admins for assistance and guidance and go from there. You can’t go at it alone all the time, it’s ok to ask for help from those who may have a different take on it.
Estimated Activity (How active will you be as an Admin.): I recently picked up a part time job, but find myself on in the early afternoon till late evenings. I am almost always on during the weekends and can supplement additional admin support as requested if no one is available. I believe a fair number of hours is 2-5 hours per day, up to 14 or more hours a week, give or take.
Briefly list what you believe is involved in being an Admin on NAK servers:
It’s not just to kick people. You are a representative of the NAK team. You are there to help guide players, assist with troubleshooting, identify issues or bugs, keep things in line, ensure a respectful community and experience. An admin is also a player. They are just like everyone else in the server or apart of the NAK Team. They play to have fun. They play to enjoy the experience of a Mil-Sim.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to private message me or reply back to this Application.
You have just enough hours, as our requirement stands. You have 51.77 hours on our servers (I included NAK Tac, which don’t really count because it is not a public server). Hours below from our servers as reference. It looks like you started playing on NAK servers as a regular around 07/03/2017. I personally would like to see more hours and more time. 50 is the absolute minimum for the number of hours and we have been talking about raising the minimum required hours.
On the other hand you have been a helpful player on the servers, reporting issues to admins and you have been very active on TeamSpeak.
I Think based on you application and my experience with you I will vote +1 for WO MP . This is our moderator role and if interested with more time you can move to full admin. The other advantage of this role is that you can have a position in NAK Tac, where an Admin can only be floaters/reserves.
+1
I’ve played and communicated with him a few times, he has been helpful, professional and quite friendly was willing to bs with me about joining the military. WO would be a great position that would allow him to continue to be in NAK TAC Alpha without bumping him to reserve or floater. With his MP experience he would definitely be an asset to the admin group. He does have low hours, but I can say I applied when I didn’t have the hours and reapplied when I did.
I would be interested in a Moderator position if that’s something you think I would be better suited for. I’m honestly down to help grow the NAK brand and ensure everyone has a solid and positive experience on the servers. I feel like the time I invest, whether it is chatting, gaming or donating monetarily, I want to see results and make sure everyone else is enjoying the same thing.
I get that the occasional troll and “kid” will jump on from time to time to ruin the experience for a few, but that is easily squashed. For the most part, at least when I’ve been on, I’ve seen and heard a lot of mature young adults attempting to live out their own “fantasy” of being in a Mil-Sim environment, just short of doing the real thing, which for all accounts, I can legit say, “I’ve been there and done that”.
This is one step of my own personal re-integration back into the civilian world. When I play this game and interact with people, it helps me sort of settle into and unwind from a day at work, and feel like the skill and training I learned, I can still use them in an environment that is fun and safe. If that makes sense.
A snapshot of my past life - which I am more than happy and willing to apply to the NAK Tak teams for training scenario and operation purposes. I used to write training op scripts and scenarios for “what if” type attacks and objectives. I would actually enjoy writing training ops scripts for your ZEUS members and incorporate some convoy and team tactics I’ve learned over the last decade
+1 but lets focus on your admin app but with the training we will be asking players if they want to make there own training scenario. but not all training scenarios will be excepted but we will look into it
Chick Norris, that is weird to type, has been approved as the newest NAK Squad Warrant Officer MP. I am sure that his past experience will be a tremendous benefit to the NAK Community.
