No direct recommendation, but I messaged VileAce about his opinion of my candidacy and received positive comments.

6. Reason for applying: (If your answer to this is anything like “to get rid of trolls” please reconsider your application)
ArmA 3 is a game that I really enjoy and play more often than others. Upon joining the NAK community, I found myself thoroughly satisfied with the versatile playstyles it offers to players and the freedom to play with a lot of addons. These two elements combined for me have made NAK the most enjoyable server I’ve been on. When questions I have come up, I receive quick and helpful responses from various members of the NAK community–this shows its members are vibrant and willing to help. I look to integrate myself further into this community and become a model for the standards and players of NAK.

7. List any real world experience or skills that you feel would contribute to the NAK community:
A skill applicable to assisting with the NAK community is coding. My profession requires an above average level of understanding programming and scripting languages. I’ve worked on a number of projects involving C, C++, C#, lua, and a bit of JavaScript. While I have experience in this field, I am no expert as it is not a primary element of my job and I need to brush up my knowledge on it from time to time.

8. Estimated Activity (How active will you be as an Admin.):
I can contribute 3-5 hours on the weekdays and 5-7 hours on the weekends normally.

9. Briefly list what you believe is involved in being an Admin on NAK servers:
Being a player of NAK servers means assisting not only the administration team when possible, but also answering questions players may have when observed in chat. The player must also abide by the rules and guidelines set and most importantly, communicate with all parties in a respectful and understandable manner. When in the administration team, these roles enhance greatly in addition to managing other new responsibilities. These include:

  • LEARNING: In the administration position, the person also has to learn and fix potential errors pointed out by other fellow staff and enforce NAK rules with great attention.

  • HANDLING CONFLICTS: In a situation that involves server rules, the admin needs to understand a situation properly in order to take proper action(s) based on the NAK server rules and administration guidelines. A detailed report on the situation to report to other staff members should conflict arise regarding the administrative move should then be followed.

  • OBSERVING: When a report is made, the admin should pay close attention to the person in question as well as reviewing action logs in order to determine whether the player’s action is malicious or accidental. Should any other issues come up, e.g. bugs/glitches/abusive mod weapon usage observed, the admin should note them down and report to the team member(s) responsibile for managing the respective issues. Lastly in this section, the admin should encourage good behavior and helpfulness to other players when observing disrespectful behavior.

  • HELPING & TALKING TO PLAYERS: Being an admin, the person is an echo of what the NAK community is. Continuing to assist in chat when a question is spotted, showing players solutions to problems, and leaving an impresson of goodwill are the core qualities an admin should have when helping players. Not only is helping important, but interacting with players in gameplay forms a solid foundation for a lasting community, i.e. the admin should play as a team and chat with the nearby players and encourage assisting other players by doing so him/herself.

P.S. My activity is inconsistent and depends on my work schedule for the week, so some days I will be on earlier than others, or I may feel fatigued and go straight to bed.

-1 at this time.

I don’t really know him and the name took a while to ring a bell. I looked through and I like the fact that he tends to help players out and there are a couple of reports he made. Number of reports really can’t be a measure of a person’s character because the steam sale and christmas crazy season is over so there are fewer problems, which is good.

I think if he stays a bit longer and continues helping players and the server in general then he would be a good candidate for admin.

For right now, he doesn’t have a lot of hours (comparatively) and I just don’t recognize him. He doesn’t stand out to me and he may be helping out but I haven’t really noticed. If any staff notice good traits in a player and feel strongly enough to make a post then they would. I think that time and continued dedication and guidance to other players would do well.

My -1 isn’t saying that what you have done so far is bad. It’s simply because I think more play time is needed.

Thanks to everyone that answered and gave feedback and advice. I’ll keep assisting with the community in any way I can and improve the areas I’m weak in even if my application for NAK Cmd is denied at this time.

Once you get your mic, poke me in TS so we can talk and we will go from there.

White Wolf has been accepted as a 2LT in NAK Tac command. He has completed his training as of tonight. Over the next couple weeks as he gets his “real life” experience, please make yourself available to him while you are online, in case he has any questions.

Congrats White Wolf!

Awesome Sauce and Congrats White Wolf!!
