Denied (7 Days) - Scrag Ban Appeal

  1. EXACT IN-GAME NAME: scrag
  2. YOUR STEAMID 64:
  3. SCREENSHOT OF THE BAN MESSAGE OR THE TEXT OF THE MESSAGE DISPLAYED UPON ENTERING THE SERVER: I was having difficulty getting the screenshot to post: the message states "You were kicked off the game. (BattlEye: Admin Kick (BAN Rule #3 - 7d - Swerlys - 09/09/2020 12:35 AM. Intentional te))
  4. NAME OF THE ADMIN: Swerlys
  5. APPROXIMATE DATE AND TIME OF THE BAN: 02 SEP 2020 1235AM
  6. THE SERVER YOU WERE ON WHEN YOU WERE BANNED: NAK1
  7. ANY EXPLANATION OR JUSTIFICATION FOR WHY THE BAN SHOULD BE LIFTED: According to the post by Swerlys the ban duration was 3 days. That is in conflict with the message upon entering the game which says 7 days. I am hoping to get this clarified as well in hopes that it will be reduced to time served. This is a first time for me being banned and it was a heat of the moment issue that won’t happen again. Thank you for your consideration.

If you read the misconduct report - https://www.naksquad.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=2341, I extended the ban at that time. Once I researched the logs and chat history, it was clear that you broke multiple rules and you were very close to receiving a permanent ban. Our admin guidelines state bans can be updated at any time before the initial ban expires, and new bans can be created up to 7 days after an event once logs are reviewed.

The level of punishment is at the discretion of the admin, and will be based on the severity of the action. If you break multiple rules your punishment may run consecutively. Continued violation of any rules may be met with a permanent ban.

Below is the justification for the increase in the ban.

Chasing down a player to team kill them is a violation of Rule #4
Team Killing is a violation of rule #3
Disrupting the server by arguing with a player for 20 min, because a player did not say sorry for a TK is a violation of Rule #4 - Although it was very disruptive to the server as a whole you were not the sole participant, but you were by far the instigator of the argument.
Calling a player idiot (multiple times) and a moron is a violation of rule #13 - This was minor compared to the rest but is still against server rules.

1st Offense: 1-day ban. - Rule #4
2nd Offense: 7-day ban. Rule #3
3rd Offense: Permanent ban. - Rule #4
4th offense: Permanent ban. - Rule #13

The 3rd and 4th offense were more minor compared to the others, so I did not include them in the current ban, but noted them in your player history to be considered in the future if any additional rules are violated within 90 days.

I stated this in the ban appeal as well, but I want it to be very clear:

I am giving the 3 of you that connect from the same IP Scrag, Katra and Nova a warning, continued rule violations from one of you may affect you all.

So to be clear…while Nova engaged in chat longer than she was supposed to, most of this is on me. Katra and Nova did not participate in the actions that I under took. I have real issues with people who lie and refuse to take responsibility for their actions. Call it the USN Senior Chief in me but I will not tolerate that BS. We all make mistakes. Monroe refused to accept his role in this at all. That is part of the reason I asked for the appeal. Frankly we have played with zero incidents up to that point - as most players who make mistakes own up to it or the admins jump on it very quickly. Yet for some reason he gets a free pass with a mild chastizing about engaging in chat to mush. That is not fair in the least. I get he made a mistake. However lying about it and refusing to take responsibility for it and getting off scott free is very wrong - period. Anyway I respect your opinion and this is the last comment from me regarding this. You have been respectful and communitive. Thank you for your continued oversight over the unruley horde.

BTW “I am giving the 3 of you that connect from the same IP Scrag, Katra and Nova a warning, continued rule violations from one of you may affect you all.” Is one of the most childish things I have seen from you. Very unprofessional. I have been polite and tryed to stay respectful. You on the other hand are acting vindictive.

So to be clear…while Nova engaged in chat longer than she was supposed to, most of this is on me. Katra and Nova did not participate in the actions that I undertook.

I agree with this statement. The warning “I am giving the 3 of you that connect from the same IP Scrag, Katra and Nova a warning, continued rule violations from one of you may affect you all.” was not made any ill intent. It was to provide information and clarity to the situation. The next level of punishment for Scrag for any additional violations, in the next 90 days, would be a permanent ban. If I were to permanently ban one of you, then the IP will be banned, which will affect all of you. I was providing a clear warning of any consequences of a permanent ban on one of you. If I did not provide the warning and one of you were to be banned permanently then you would be upset that you were not provided the information prior to the event.
